Ambassador Series: Jaya
HABU Global seeks to honour the surfers who have progressed the sport and sought nothing in return. When we were choosing our first lot of ambassadors, there were a few guys from Sri Lanka we immediately had in mind. We build gear to their standards and guide the surf brand from their track lines. It's about time you meet our next legend: Jaya.
You've probably heard this Phil Edwards quote:
"the best surfer is the one having the most fun."
Well, I hate to break it to ya, but if Jaya is in the water then you don't stand a chance at that title. We've never met such a frother. He smiles like he just caught his very first wave yet surfs like he's on his millionth.
Jaya's humility and pure stoke will liven up any room. He's a grinning tour de force that might just be more excited about your last wave than you. You'll know by his cheer.
Everything about Jaya makes him the perfect ambassador for HABU and we are grateful to have him onboard. This shredder can be seen cruising around and guiding surfers on the east coast of Sri Lanka in his dark green tuk tuk.
If you're not planning a surf trip to Sri Lanka, you can catch him in "The Church of the Open Sky", award-winning surf filmmaker Nathan Oldfield's newest movie.
That's right. This Sri Lankan local is now a movie star and we'll prove it! Go ahead and scroll on...
